THE NEW ERA OF PULP AND THE RETURN OF HARDBOILED CRIME

"Look at all those dead guns!" said a friend of John L. Thompson, as he pointed at an image on the internet of a big pile of guns which were confiscated in a foreign country. They were possibly in Great Britain or Australia, but either way it was one BIG pile of guns slated for destruction. How is this related to Dead Guns Press? It’s related in a couple ways...

John decided in 2013 to become an editor and publisher. He planned to make a website, and fill it with hardboiled and crime stories. While John pondered for a name, Dead Guns came back to him.

Yesterday’s writers, such as Ray Bradbury, Philip Jose Farmer, Jim Thompson, and a slew of others, set the standard in crime, horror, fantasy, and science fiction, but they are all just about gone to the Writer's Valhalla. They were the big guns in their fields and their work will live on forever.

Tomorrow's monumental writers are starting out today, or have been in the game for a few years already... We’re looking for those writers of tomorrow, so check out the Submissions page and join the New Era of  Pulp.

Dead Guns Press is constantly in a process of re-design and improvement so available projects will change.
